Government of Maharashtra desires to set up an Industrial Mega City over an area of about 4653 Ha near Talegaon-Chakan belt. It will consist of premier knowledge based institutions in the areas of science & technology, engineering, telecommunications, management, medicine, pharmaceuticals & healthcare, high quality educational institutions and other centers of excellence. The proposed complex will be an integrated one with institutional, residential, commercial facilities and developed to provide a high quality environment for work. MIDC has been designated as the implementing agency for the above project. CIDCO is in the process of extending consultancy for Master Planning the Development of Industrial Mega City.
