As a planning authority, CIDCO has given importance to planning social infrastructure, which includes healthcare facilities. A 3-tier system has been introduced for health care services.

The first-tier consists of small dispensaries known as Urban Health Posts, which provide general treatment, first-aid treatment etc. These are run by private practitioners and by municipal corporation.

The second-tier consists of Primary Health Centres/Maternity and Child Health Centres which provide services for prevention of various diseases covered under the National Health Programmes such as Leprosy, Malaria etc.

The third-tier consists of hospital services of about minimum 100 beds, which provide medical care in 8 common specialities with facilities of basic investigations and facility for major operations.

CIDCO has complied with the government norms of 2 beds per 1000 population and for existing 10 lakh population, approx. 2000 general hospital beds have been provided. These hospital beds are provided through the hospitals constructed by CIDCO, by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, by charitable trusts and by private sectors. CIDCO has also encouraged, other alternative systems of medicines and has encouraged establishment of Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Naturopathic Centres etc.
