New Panvel |
|
It was the first New Town Project of CIDCO in Raigad District of Navi Mumbai and was taken up for development primarily to the housing requirement of employees working in wholesale/steel market and warehousing complex at Kalamboli. The township is planned on 514 Ha. of land. Though the node is developed by CIDCO, it surrounds the Panvel Nagar Parishad Territory. The node is annexed to MIDC Taloja Industrial Belt and also Panvel Industrial Belt. The main feature of this Node is Konkan Railway, which has connected New Panvel or Navi Mumbai to other States of India. Because of the geographical importance and well-connectivity of New Panvel, it is bound to become main centre for transportation like Dadar Junction in the Greater Mumbai.
