The Govt. of Maharashtra established CIDCO in 1970 to ensure that area of Navi Mumbai develops neatly and also attracts people, who would otherwise have settled in Mumbai. It must be said that CIDCO fulfilled this task most admirably and while executing this project, CIDCO took care to ensure that the project affected people are also benefited, along with the development of Navi Mumbai, by offering them 12.5% of developed land.
Over the years, CIDCO has came to be recognized not only in our country as a specialized agency in creating the essential infrastructure to form an urban environment, but also in the world. In 1970, when CIDCO was established the population of Navi Mumbai was about 60,000, Presently it has a population of 1.8 million & soon it will exceed 2 million.
CIDCO not only makes “Cities,” but ensures that they are livable and conducive the fulfillment of desires and ambitions of its citizens.
