Panvel

Panvel is the centre of all industrial traffic in Navi Mumbai including JNPT

It is an important junction for long distance trains and terminus for suburban trains from Mumbai CST.

Trains from 4 directions viz. Mumbai via Diva, Mumbai via Vashi (Suburban only), Uran and JNPT (Goods only), South i.e. Konkan Railway meet at Panvel.

In addition Panvel is being connected to Karjat (28.85 km).

Suburban station building has been designed to provide operational facilities for Railways.

The commissioning of suburban trains from Mumbai to Panvel has given great impetus to the development of Panvel and surrounding area.

It is located adjoining the existing Panvel railway station of main line on its North.

The railway station caters to the passenger demand of New Panvel node sector-1 to 19 (East) New Panvel Trans Railway area and Panvel Municipal area.

This station caters two corridors viz. Belapur-Panvel & Panvel-Uran.

PRESENT STATUS
Suburban Railway upto Panvel commissioned in June 1998. CST Panvel Double-Line Commissioned on 14-04-2000. Development of Suburban Railway Terminus Station started 02-02-2005.
